He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene I. Hingtgen and Mary Hingtgen (Landa); and his sister Bev Datisman. He is survived by: his wife Donna M. Mess; his children, Christina Metz, Eugene Joseph Hingtgen III (Kelly), Pamela Hingtgen (Kevin) and Aron Hingtgen; his grandchildren, April (Torelle), Delainey, Alaytra (Brandan), Eugene IV (Alyssa), Levi (Jessica), Alanis (Jake), Cheyenne (Dylan), Ashton (Austin), Tristan and Grayson; his great grandchildren, Chase, Sophia, Liam, Mia, Ellie, Finn and Perry; his siblings, Linda Deves (Tom), Rick Hingtgen, Ron Hingtgen and Mary Moldenhauer (Tommy Richmond); his brother-in-law Roger Datisman; his goddaughter Shelly Mess; and his friends, Phil Konrardy, Rick Youtzy, Ed Tracy, Dan Hoffman, Mark Pauly and Steve Firzlaff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including a special niece.
In lieu of flowers, a Eugene Hingtgen Memorial Fund will be established, with donations made in his honor to the Veterans Freedom Center and Hospice of Dubuque.
