Frank Hermsen Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 21, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Frank Hermsen of Dubuque, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest "Butch" Hermsen and Alma Hermsen (Hannasch); his in-laws, Joe and Dorothy Schon; and his brother-in-law Duane Schon.

He is survived by: his wife Cleone L. Schon of Dubuque; his daughters, Lisa Hermsen (Richard Neuman) of Rochester, NY, Tricia Windschitl (Paul) of Iowa City, IA and Mary Ridgeway (Robert) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Calvin Windschitl, Elke Windschitl and Kyle Ridgeway; his sisters, Bettie Bolar (Steve) of Marshalltown, IA and Donita Hermsen (Kristy Lynch) of Coralville, IA; his siblings-in-law, Joleen Conrad (Roger) of Manilla, IA, Lorraine Pettit of Decorah, IA and Michael Flanagan of Council Bluffs, IA; and his nephews, Zach Bolar and Luke Bolar.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory (3860 Asbury Rd, Dubuque, IA 52002). A prayer will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Resurrection (4300 Asbury Rd, Dubuque, IA 52002). He coached girls' Little League Softball for 17 years, served as Board President for Holy Spirit School, President of the Kuemper Catholic High School Parents Club and he was a Speak Up Leader through RSVP.
