It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Runde of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gary Runde to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Runde and Adeane Runde (Murray); his daughter Kari Ann Runde; his stepfather James Kennedy; and his brothers, Danny Hartshorn, Billy Hartshorn and Clarence Oberfoel.
He is survived by: his wife Sheila Rooney; his children, Gary Runde (Teresa) of Portage, Chad Runde of Dyersville, Eric Runde of Pheonix, Vincent Kurinzi (Mary Jo) of Spotswood and Ashley Redenbaugh (Cameron) of Farley, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jacob Runde (Summer), Austin Moser, Brylee Hodges, Dani Runde, Rachyl Runde, Jenna Deutmeyer, Abigail Baize (Joey) of Erica Runde, E. J and David Redenbaugh (Elizabeth); his great grandchildren, Liam Bliss, Charlie Bliss, Owen Runde and Tanner Baize; his siblings, Robert Runde of Leisure Lake, Jerry Runde (Robin) of Dubuque and Scott Steiert (Carla) of Leisure Lake, Iowa; his in-laws, Terry Rooney (Alice) of Dubuque, Mike Rooney (Patti) of Fort Myers and Anna Kaltsas (Tino); his former wife Debbie Runde; and his daughter Stephanie Deutmeyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He also served on the board at Leisure Lake and was a proud supporter of the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
