He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Pickel and Louisa Pickel (Wackershauser); his former wife Karen Staver; his parents-in-law, Bernard and Edna Fishnick (Davis); his siblings, Delbert Pickel (Marie), Bernell Pickel (Marcela), Ernest Pickel (Elnora), Harold Pickel (Joanie), Selma Marelle (Clifford), Goldie Eggers (Edmond), Evelyn King (Ollie), Elvira Merritt (John), Kathleen "Kay" Wedig (Howard), Linda Reifsteck (Dan) and Lila Trickle (Ray); and his siblings-in-law, Kim Fishnick, Betty Fishnick, Karen Fishnick, Pat Fishnick and Bernie Fishnick.
He is survived by: his sons, Gerald and Robert of Potosi, Wisconsin.; his wife Cheryl "Cherie" Fishnick of Mathew's Church; his sons, Nicholas Pickel (Angela) and Adam Pickel (Nicole); his grandchildren, Lena, Kolby, Natalie, Lydia and Charolette Pickel; his brother Larry Pickel (Dina); his siblings-in-law, Mike Fishnick, Rick Fishnick (Deb), Jerry Fishnick (Laurie) and Carol Fishnick; and also, Rob, Lisa Moldenhauer, Harry and Karen Hayes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
