It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J. Steil of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on June 8, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Matilda Steil (Behnke). He is survived by: his father Clement Steil; his wife Jean Ann Steil; his brother Vern Steil; his children, Patti Meyer, David Steil, Rick Steil and Doug Steil; his grandchildren, Matthew Meyer, Dylan Steil, Griffin Steil, Tyler Steil, Nick Steil, Emily Hansen (Steil) and Tucker Steil; his great grandchild Montana Meyer; his granddaughter Tessa Rae Steil; his great grandchild Maverick Meyer; and his siblings, Eleanor Lombardi, Evelyn Beecher, Gerald Steil, Alvina Murphy, Leonard Steil, Mary Ann Derouin and Norman Steil.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Asbury Fire Department or Asbury Eagles Club.
