She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Hovey and Gladys Walker Hovey; her husband Gerald A. Peter; her granddaughter Abby Peter; her siblings, Orval Hovey, Donald Hovey (Marlys), Harold Hovey (Vera), Helen Dotzler (Ed) and Darlene Bakken (Orvin); and her brothers-in-law, Vincent Thraenert and Kenneth Hebrink.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Peter (Yong Mi) of Huntsville, AL, Lori Schmitt (Jay) of Durango, Scott Peter of Dubuque and Mark Peter (Ann) of Mount Horeb, WI; and her siblings, Sadie Thraenert, Charlotte Hebrink of Cresco, IA and Harry Hovey (Michelle) of Republic, MO. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Hospice of Dubuque.
