He is survived by: his wife Lana; his children, Julie Hoffman (Bill) of Dubuque, Russell Pfab (Brenda) of Peosta, Randall Pfab (Candy Lemerand) of Baldwin, WI, Richard Pfab (Billie) of Appleton, WI, Jennifer Pfab (Jen Thumser) of Dubuque and Janis Thomas (Chad) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Jeffry Hoffman (Raquel), Kelsey Hoffman, Benjamin Pfab (Court Schueller), Samantha Hospodarsky (Tyler), Courtney Gebke (Keegan), McKenzie Klinefelter (Payton), Brittanee Suliin (Nathan), Chelsea Pfab (Adam Lafontaine), Devon Fredrickson (Andrew), Greg Pfab, Darrian Adler, Joshua Pfab, Zachary Pfab, Lana Pfab, Charlie Pfab-Thumser, Jack Thomas and Sophia Thomas; his great grandchildren, Violet Hoffman, Baxter Hoffman, Ozzie Hoffman, Elsie Gebke, Kenzee Suliin, Jaxon Lafontaine, Landon Lafontaine, Mallorie Lafontaine, Arabella Fredrickson and Harlow Fredrickson; his half-siblings, Susie Onken (Jack), James Pfab (Meredith) and William Pfab (Tammy); his brother-in-law Dale Hines (Sara); and his friends, Wayne and Karen Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:15 PM at the Church of the Nativity (1225 Alta Vista St, Dubuque, IA 52001). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 7:30 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
