She is survived by: her husband Royal Dean Hughes; her sons, Greg Hughes (Christy), Matthew Hughes (Stephanie) and Jonathan Hughes (Sarah Yonder-Hughes); her grandchildren, Madison and Christian Hughes; her siblings, Sue Lee Newton, Sheila Newton and Jim Newton; and her sister-in-law Sue Jean Newton.
Memorials may be made in Jo's name to Creative Expressions Workshop or Hospice of Dubuque.
