He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Klauer (Melvin) and Margaret Klauer (Welu); his siblings, Mel "Moon" Klauer and Bette Brown; and his brother-in-law Ed Brown.

He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Kammes (Gregory) of Dubuque, IA, Amanda Halstead (Devin) of Surprise, AZ and Chad Klauer of Dubuque, IA..
