He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf H. Ludwig and Alberta C. Ludwig (Wallenhorst); his wife Kay Ludwig; his siblings, Carol Vosberg, Ron Ludwig and Earl Ludwig; and his sister-in-law Rita Ludwig.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Laugesen (Lane) of Dubuque, IA and Daniel Ludwig (Hollie Thomas) of Dubuque, IA; his brother Marvin Ludwig (Phyllis) of Kieler, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Joann Ludwig of New Vienna, IA and Dan Vosberg of Hazel Green, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (2921 Central Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
