He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cowan and Genevieve Cowan (Anglin); his siblings, Mary Clare Kutsch (Joe) and Arnold "Sam" (Barb Cowan); his brother-in-law Mike Wiegand; and his niece Kelli Kutsch.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Wiegand of Joseph's Church; his daughters, Ann Sebastian (Larry) of Mason City, IA, Beth Thill (Dan) of Madison, WI and Cathy Moore (Marty) of Walker, IA.; his grandchildren, Miranda Moore McGovern (Cal), Nicholas Sebastian, Justin Moore (Caelee) and Brandon Thill (Kate); his great grandchildren, Aubree, Raelee Moore, Coen and Elsie McGovern; and his siblings-in-law, Carole Wiegand of Marion, IA and Tim Wiegand (Karen) of Lorimor, IA.
