He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Lloyd and Dolores Ouderkirk (Hilkin); his sister Jeanette Schmitt (James); his brother-in-law Gerry Naumann; and his aunts and uncles, Jean Hufnagel (Ervin), Helen Hinkel (Frank), Mary Hinkel, Melvin Ouderkirk and Earl Hilkin (Ruth).

He is survived by: his siblings, Phyllis Naumann of Dubuque, IA, Francis "Fran" Ouderkirk (Arleen), Pat Oberman (John) and Dennis Ouderkirk (Lisa); and his uncle Ken Hinkel of Dubuque, IA.
