It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loras Wolbers of Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on April 28, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert J. Wolbers and Bernadine E. Wolbers (Callaghan); his daughter Shannon Wolbers; his parents-in-law, Jim and Opal Hurst; his siblings, Pat Wolbers (Yvonne), Albert Wolbers, Roseann Muntz and Colleen Schwers; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Hurst (Sue) and Ricky Hurst.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Hurst; his son Chad Wolbers (Mandy); his grandchildren, Austin, Dakota, Cole and Hannah; his siblings, Marie Wiegand (Dave) and Justin Wolbers (Sharon); and his siblings-in-law, Steve Hurst (Luann), Elmer Schwers, Danny Muntz and Kathy Hurst.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
