Marie G. Capesius Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 30, 2025, Marie G. Capesius (Dubuque, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kerkenbush and Adeline Kerkenbush (Meoska); her former husband Paul Capesius; her siblings, Virginia "Ginny", Elizabeth "Bets", Eileen, Alfred, Gerald "Jerry" and Roger; her daughter Judy Mueller; her husband Richard "Red" Fens; and her close friends, Dorene McCarthy and Marlene Schuster.
She is survived by: her sons, Ricky Fens (Ann) of Dubuque and Dan Fens (Jodi) of Dubuque; and her grandchildren, Loegin, Ethan, Karrigan, Hunter, Mitchell, Mike, Aaron, Kirby and Laura. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Even during the pandemic, she attended daily Mass in her living room and would not answer the door or take a phone call until the Priest had given the final blessing!
In lieu of flowers, a Marie G. Fens-Capesius Memorial Fund will be established.
