He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Wolbers and Anita Wolbers (McDonnell); his wife Joanna Blomgren of Patrick's Church; his parents-in-law, Ivan and Sylvia Blomgren; his siblings, Samuel Wolbers, Mary Ann Hefel (Dick), Eunice Bastian and Neal Wolbers; his siblings-in-law, Darrell Stanton, Mike and Sharon Long; his nephews, Andrew Wolbers, Josh Wolbers and Walter Long; and his niece Dianne Fritsch.
He is survived by: his sons, Todd Wolbers (Maureen Corcoran) of Oshkosh, WI, Chad Wolbers (Regan) of Dubuque and Jason Wolbers (Tony Ritschard) of Madison, WI.; his grandchildren, Liam (Isabella), Kenna, Josie and Gavin; his siblings, Larry Wolbers (Katie), Robert Wolbers (Margot), John Wolbers (Monica), Brian Wolbers (Sharon), Carol Hilkin (Keith), Gwen Loes (Ken), Jolene Bybee (Dick) and Martha Gartner (Paul); and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Wolbers, Veronica Gaston, Linda Stanton and Leroy Bastian. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A wake was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 12:45 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Church (1701 Rhomberg Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001).
