With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Schmid of Dubuque, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Schwind, Jr. and Ann Schwind (McGovern); her husband James "Jim" Schmid; her daughter Gretchen Pollei; and her siblings, John W. Schwind III and Suzanne "Sue" McCabe.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Schmid (Liz), Karen Schmid, Julie Schmid and Peggy Dunham (Patrick); her son-in-law Scott Pollei; and her sister-in-law Dorthy Schwind. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, one great- granddaughter.
