We are sad to announce that on May 15, 2026, at the age of 89, Noel Stecher of Dubuque, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Stecher and Leona Stecher (Schueller); his in-laws, Carl and Magdeline Schmitt (Tigges); and his siblings, Lorraine Aird (Clem), Mary Hirsch (Alfred), Victor (Lou Ann), Eileen Fischer (Larry), Alfred Behnke (Fritz), Joseph Stecher, Loras Stecher (Sue) and Gerald Schmitt.
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Schmitt; his children, Pam of Denver, CO, Barb Holmgren (Dan) of Kansas City, MO, Shelly Rose (Jerry) of Prescott, AZ, Mike (Lori) of Dubuque, David (Kari) of Des Moines, IA and Rick of Dubuque; his grandchildren, David Holmgren (Michele), Melanie Holmgren, Natalie Holmgren, Jason Waligorski, Sara Chavez (Jonathan), Shane Still, Dillon Stecher (Shayna), Audrey Pregler (Ben), Dallas Stecher (Logan), Valerie Stecher, Will Stecher, Noel Stecher, Michael Rose (Nancy) and Dan Rose (Tassia); his great grandchildren, Madeline Waligorski, Ella Mau, Elle Holmgren, Pearl Stecher, Nikolas Chavez and Teddy Pregler; his sisters, Loretta Behnke and Joyce Schmitt; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Stecher and Jeannie Stecher.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church (2001 St Joseph St, Dubuque, IA 52002). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
