He is survived by: his wife Karen Knockel of Dubuque, IA; his children, Donna Duehr (Mark) of Dubuque, IA, Tony Knockel (Connie Garrett) of Dubuque, IA and Sarah Flynn (Mike) of Asbury, IA.; his brother Mike Knockel of Dubuque, IA; his sisters-in-law, Grace Knockel of East Dubuque, IL and Betty Kutsch of Zwingle, IA.; his grandchildren, Britiney Rogers (John), Tony Knockel, Jr., Alex Knockel, Misha Jobgen and Jarrett Jobgen; his great grandchildren, Bella Wilson, Max Rogers and John Paul Rogers, Jr.; his friends, Harvey and Jean Miller; his siblings, Marguerite Knockel, Lorraine Muenster (Francis), Bernice Falkiner (Don), Herman Knockel Jr. (Irene), James Knockel, Otto Knockel, Patricia Averill (Clayton), Shirley Anderson (William), Barbara Bandy and Ann Riste (Michael); his siblings-in-law, Eugene Kutsch, Madonna Kutsch and Sue Kutsch; and his son-in-law Tim Jobgen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
