He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dimmer and Margaret Dimmer (Fransen); his brothers, Lyle, Don and Tom; his siblings-in-law, Chuck, Gary (Roxanne), Kathy, Mark, Don and Starla; and his great grandchild Lily Jo.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Bellings; his children, Joe Dimmer (Joan Heber), Kelly Thoma (John), Rob Dimmer (Sara) and Heather Urbain (Todd); his grandchildren, Joey, Jared, Hayden Dimmer (Jayse), Jennifer (Josh), Stephanie, Angel (Stephen), Johnny, Nikki Thoma, Kayci (Cole), Erin Dimmer, Alicia (Codey), Lucy (Kalib) and Molly Urbain; his siblings, Shirley, Janise (Tom), Janaan and Rick (Mary Jane); and his siblings-in-law, Anaruth, Shiela, Joye, Mary Jo, Marsha (Dick), Timmy (Kym), Alan (Cindy), Roger (Cindy), Nancy, Holly, Brian and Randy (Deb). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
