With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Meehan of Dubuque, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 17, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlyle Meehan and Louise Meehan (Birkel); his in-laws, Patsy Balk (Donald), Marlene "Mickey" McCarthy (Dennis), Donna Runde (Dennis), Regina "Mae" McCarty (Jack), Owen Dietrich and Stanley Kane; and his sibling's children, Tim McCarty, Karl Runde and Dawn Manders.
He is survived by: his wife Glady Theis of Dubuque; his sons, John Meehan (Jill) of Dubuque, Pat Meehan (Pam) of Dubuque, Chad Meehan (Liz) of Dubuque and Cory Meehan (Jennifer) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Jenna, Joe (Katelyn), Julia, Carlyle, Kylie, Carter, Collin, Keegan and Carson; his great grandchild Liam; and his siblings, James Meehan (Judy) of Williamsburg, VA, Lorraine Dietrich, Shirley Kane and Fran Brietbach (Larry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
