She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Schiessl and Greta Schiessl; her husband Harry Leitner of Mary's Church; her in-laws, Harold and Mary Leitner (Roepsch); her daughter Diane Leitner; and her brothers-in-law, Dick Tietjen and Arnie Kaufmann.

She is survived by: her children, Dolores "Dee" Koester (Hank) of Dubuque, Jim Leitner (Maggie) of Dubuque and Kevin Leitner (Maria) of Chicago; her grandchildren, Amanda Koester (Christine Pezzulo), Alyssa Koester, Gabby Leitner and Bailey Leitner; her great grandchildren, Tatum Pezzulo-Koester and Tanner Pezzulo-Koester; her siblings, Bob Schiessl (Linda) of Lincoln, Neb., John Schiessl (Jackie) of Ridgefield, Wash., Martha Olson (Dave), Ark, Mary Healy (Denny) of Eldridge, Iowa, Carol Smith (Tom) of Dubuque and Jan George (Tony) of Sherrill, Iowa; and her sisters-in-law, Carol Tietjen of Davenport, Iowa and Darlene Kaufmann of Dubuque. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Roann's name.
