He is survived by: his children, Kim M. Koetz (James) of Centralia, IA, Mark R. McLaughlin (Joyce) of Phoenix, AZ, Kathryn A. Yudys (Grant Veitch) of Mauston, WI and Kristine M. Pregler (Mark) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Cassandra Schetgen (Brandon), Kathryn Jones (Tyler), Sarah Richard (Tony), Jason McLaughlin, Tyler McLaughlin (Molly), Athena McLaughlin, Nicole Yudys (Brian Gabry), Joshua Yudys, Justin Pregler (Arellhi), Brandon Veitch (Liz) and Christina Veitch; his great grandchildren, Felicity, Lucy, Cecilia, James Schetgen, Francis, Gabriel, Emilia Jones and Kolbe Richard; and his siblings, Jaxon, Ana Maria, Elena Pregler, Addison and Mila Veitch. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
