He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Kelzer and Lucille Esser Kelzer. He is survived by: his wife Lois Kelzer of Dubuque; his son Bob Kelzer (Stephanie) of Cedar Rapids; his grandsons, Riley and Mason Kelzer; his sister Judy Meehan (Red) of Williamsburg, VA; and his brothers-in-law, Ron Hohnecker (Elaine) of Dubuque, Roger "Tom" Hohnecker of Sunrise Beach, MO, Richard Hohnecker (Debra) of Hampton, NH and Randy Hohnecker (Vicki) of Dubuque.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory (3860 Asbury Rd, Dubuque, IA 52002). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Veterans Freedom Center.
