He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Bauer and Pauline Bauer (Stierman); and his aunts, Eleanor and Evelyn Stierman. He is survived by : his godson Steve Porter of Fulton, IL; and his friend Vern Auderer of Dubuque, IA..

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Holy Spirit Parish - Holy Ghost (2921 Central Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001). A Mass was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
