It is with sadness that the passing of Charles Mitchell (Dunlap, Iowa) is shared. Charles, born on December 4, 1936, passed away on August 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Mitchell and Evelyn Mitchell (Koski); his siblings, Robert Mitchell and Norma Sullivan; his siblings-in-law, Rosanna Mitchell, Leo P. Sullivan and Fritz Klein; and his nephews, William Mitchell, Leo A. Sullivan, Craig Mitchell and Roger Sullivan.
He is survived by: his wife Sally Davis of Dunlap; his children, Randy Mitchell (Nancy) of Dow City, Judy Gibson (Jim) of Story City, Scott Mitchell (Dina) of Woodbine and Patricia Winterrowd (David) of Battle Creek, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jen Arkfeld (Andy), Mallory Dreier (Jacob), Megan Anderson (Matt), Josh Gibson (Jeri), Ashley Susin (Tanner), Mitchell Gibson (Anna), Maddie Mitchell (Gable), Jake Mitchell (Jess), Charlie Mitchell, Anna Winterrowd, Gabe Winterrowd (Aubree) and Abby Winterrowd; and his sister Phyllis Klein of Dunlap. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fouts Funeral Home- Dunlap (500 Court St, Dunlap, IA 51529). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Dunlap United Methodist Church (701 Eaton St, Dunlap, IA 51529). A burial was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
