It is with sadness that the passing of Patrick Heffernan (Dunlap, Iowa) is shared. Patrick, born on July 26, 1932, passed away on October 7, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Heffernan and Margaret Heffernan (Gaughan); his wife Eileen Heffernan; his grandson Aidan Green; his great grandchildren, Riley Beeck and Benny John Green; his daughter-in-law Amy Heffernan; and his siblings, Daniel (Lee), Robert, Harold (Lilly), J. L., Ed (Rita), Marge Fink (Harold) and Mary Wachter.
He is survived by: his children, Dan Heffernan (Diane) of Dunlap, Jodi Blom of Des Moines, Brian Heffernan (Paula) of Dunlap, Colleen (Chad Heistand) of Dunlap, Rick Heffernan of Ute, Rob Heffernan (Becky Bell), Jim Heffernan (Maureen Heffernan) of Dunlap and Jeff Malone of Dunlap. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Fouts Funeral Home- Dunlap (500 Court St, Dunlap, IA 51529). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A prayer will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (509 S 3rd St, Dunlap, IA 51529). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
