We announce the death of Jesse J. Steger (Dyersville, Iowa), who passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 68. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Steger and Cleo Steger (Meinen) of Holy Cross, Iowa.; his brother Ben Steger; his nephew Tony Steger; and his parents-in-law, Leonard "Hans" and Jeanette Fangman (Bries).
He is survived by: his wife Karen Fangman; his children, Kristie Stump (Lee), Paul Steger (Kristi Langel), Amy Winsky (Bryson) and Abby Moore (Nick); his grandchildren, Kylie, Hannah, Adalyn Stump, Cole, Eli Steger, Walter, Callen, Isla Winsky, Delaney and Whitley Moore; his siblings, Dave, Doris Steger (Cummer), Lonnie, Kathy Steger (Leibfried), Geralynn Lord (Bob), Chuck and Ruth Gassmann (McQuillen); and his sisters-in-law, Lou Fangman and Diane White (Fangman). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent to the Kramer-Morris Funeral Home will contribute to the Jesse Steger Memorial Fund, which will be supporting the creation of a construction/trades scholarship at Beckman Catholic High School, Western Dubuque High School, as well as the Associated General Contractors of Iowa Foundation. If preferred, a donation can also be made to the charity of your choice in the name of Jesse Steger.
