He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Fleshner and Hattie Fleshner; his wife Violet Shedeck Hanna; his daughter Connie Zientek; and his siblings, Lee Fleshner (June), Laverne Peters (Edwin) and Donna Hansen (Paul).
He is survived by: his daughter Laura Fleshner of Waterloo; his stepchildren, James Hanna (Suzanne) of Middleboro, MA, Lynn Hanna (Tina) and Krista Merfeld (Tom); his stepgrandchildren, Jason Hanna (Holly) of Hingham, MA, Jessica Wilson (Micah) of Harper, OR and Kortney Cruz (Jeffry) of Des Moines; his son-in-law Mike Zientek; and his sister Lois Rieger of Waterloo. He is also survived by 8 step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to Prairie Lakes Church, 1907 Viking Road, Cedar Falls, IA, Unity Point Hospice, or Union Community Schools FFA.
