He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Burkle and Emma Burkle (Willenborg); his daughter Julie Burkle Pritchard; his parents-in-law, Anton and Isabella Feldmann; his siblings, Alice Wulfekuhle (Jerome), James Burkle, Herbert Burkle (Wilma) and Cletus Burkle (Grace); his sister-in-law Dorothy Burkle; and his in-laws, Theresa Burkle (Leon), Jerome Feldmann (Mary Jane), Floyd Feldmann (Harriet "Rita"), Les Feldmann (Joan) and Paul Feldmann.
He is survived by: his wife Lavonne Burkle; his children, Thomas Burkle of Earlville, Dennis Burkle (Sherry) of Earlville and Joan Leuchs (Don) of Dyersville; his grandchildren, Rachael, Renee, Kayla, Emmalee, Melinda (Evan), Cassandra, Dannielle, Kyle Leuchs (Brittany) and Eric Leuchs (Kristin); his brothers, Donald Burkle and Delbert Burkle of Dyersville; and his in-laws, Deloras Burkle of Earlville, Elmer Feldmann (Dorothy) of Hopkinton, Dave Feldmann (Sandy) of Alburnett, Irvin Feldmann of Earlville, Tony Feldmann (Joyce) of Earlville, Loras Feldmann (Mary) of Farley, Gerald Feldmann (Barb) of Epworth, Dan Feldmann (Barb) of Cedar Rapids and Leanna Feldmann of Petersburg. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home (110 N West St, Earlville, IA 52041). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (303 Mary St, Earlville, IA 52041).
