He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Struchen and Edith Struchen (Kelley); his wife Donna Struchen; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Clausen, Tony Cecconi, John Cecconi and Dawn Cecconi.

He is survived by: his children, Margaret Struchen (Doug Adams) of Walnut Creek, CA, Tom Struchen (Kristin) of Raleigh, NC and Theresa Melohn (Justin) of Newell, IA; his grandchildren, Sam, Dylan Adams, Tate, Kendall Struchen, Michael, Andrew and Avery Melohn; his siblings, Ed Struchen (Bonnie) of Marble Falls, TX and Rosemary Clausen of Okoboji, IA; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Cecconi of Johnson City, TN and Arlys Cecconi of Yorktown, VA; and his close friend Joan Zubradt of Early. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
