He was predeceased by: his parents, George Akers and Loretta Akers (Lenz); his daughter Stephanie Cruchelow; and his brother Jim Akers. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Akers (O'daniels); his children, Regina Slama (James), Matt Akers (Ashley) and Daniel Akers (Wanda); his siblings, Joe, John, Dave, Mike and Elizabeth; and his grandchildren, Benjamin, Amanda, Cyrus, Desiree, Logan and Dylan.
