He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Arnold Gilbert and Florence Gilbert (Reese); his daughter Linda; his son-in-law Alan Shaw of Bettendorf; his son Roger; his daughter-in-law Pam Gilbert of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Jason Goldsmith, Sarah Shaw and Shaun Gilbert; his sister Diane; his brother-in-law John Hausch of Wheatland, Iowa; his brother Darryl; his sister-in-law Sonya Gilbert of Muscatine, Iowa; and his nieces and nephews, David, Dianne Fahrenkrog of Sherrard, Randy, Carol Fahrenkrog of Bayfield and Keri Nelson of Johnston, Iowa..
