He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hoosier, and Barbara Van Hoosier, Sr. (Popp); his daughter Tammy L. Van Hoosier; his siblings, Frances Wingerter, Charles Van Hoosier (Nancy), Arthur Van Hoosier, Donald (Gertrude) and Van Hoosier; and his brother-in-law Herman Bemus.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Van Hoosier; his children, Jill Venjohn (Jeff) of Daniel Island, Todd Van Hoosier of Daniel Island, David Bulin (Michelle) of Arlington and Lori Lindsey of Eldridge; his grandchildren, Erik, Colin, Caitlin, Quincy, Joseph, Shannon, Morgan, Madison, Kiera and Dakota; his great grandchildren, Annabelle, Charlie and River; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Van Hoosier and Joanne Bemus of Culpeper, Virginia..

In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made to the Donahue American Legion or Quad Cities Veterans Outreach Center.
