It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard A. Buikema of Eldridge, Iowa, who passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard E. Buikema and Hattie Buikema (Byland); his daughter Cathleen A. Steines; his granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Buikema; and his siblings, Francis Damhoff, Orville Buikema and Robert A. "Bob" Buikema (Harold Buikema).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Voss; his children, Brenda Jamison (Dan) of Princeton, IA and Randall Buikema (Mary) of Franklin, TN; and his siblings, Charlotte Houzenga of Sterling, IL, Martha Smith (Donald) of Morrison, IL and Ted Buikema (Hazel) of Rock Falls, IL.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bosma-Renkes - Fulton Chapel (1500 10th Ave, Fulton, IL 61252). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
