He was predeceased by : his parents, Julius Beert and Marcella Beert (Montford); his daughter Trudy Shockey; and his sister Darlene Speth. He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Lage; his children, Julie Hoffmann (Michael) of Eldridge, Robin Beert (Trudy), Long Grove and Sandra Powell (Rik); his son-in-law Bill Shockey; his grandchildren, Scott Hoffmann (Jenny), Dana Virden (Dave), Todd Sleep (Angela), Joseph Sleep (Alisa), Stephanie Ganzer (Kyle), Leslie Hildebrant (Billy), Brock Beert, Bryant Ferris (Jenna Webb) and Luke Ferris (Shandy); and his brothers, Richard Beert and Larry Beert (Judy). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
