We announce the death of Roger S. Wakeland of Eldridge, Iowa, who passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 92. Roger will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Wakeland and Ruth Wakeland; his wife Ruth Wakeland; and his siblings, Lane Wakeland, Dixie, Mary and Melba.
He is survived by: his brother Mikey; his children, Randy Wakeland (Allison Allgaier) and Ronda Anderson (Gary); his grandchildren, Michelle Duncan (Brandon), Robert Wakeland, Brady Wakeland, Andrea Wolfe (Andy), Alex Wakeland and Andy Anderson (Halee); and his great grandchildren, Peyton Hott (Ethan), Callen Duncan, Oliver Wolfe, Emerson Wolfe, Aislynn Anderson, Riverleigh Anderson, Reed Anderson, Brayve Wakeland, Tyler Wakeland, Glory Wakeland, Haven Wakeland and Noble Wakeland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Memorials may be made to Long Grove Fire Department, Long Grove Christian Church, or to the family.
