He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Tuftee and Marcella Tuftee; his brother Roger (Trish); his sister-in-law Margie (Robert); his mother-in-law Virginia Pekios; his uncle Norman; and his close friend Kramer.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca; his children, Brad (Angi) of Thomson, IL, Teisha of Eldridge, IA, Lee (Shanyn) of Apple Valley, MN, Sheila (Levi Ion) of Princeton, IA. and Troy Kroeger of Okoboji, IA.; his grandchildren, Bradley, Cassidy, Cole, Andren, Marek, Brooke and Maeve; his pets, Bindi, McGee, Beau and Bruce; his siblings, Robert, Ralph, Randall (Doris), Sharon (Rich Austin), Marylou (Vince Weber), Lori (Chris Cummings) and Beth (Dave Irving); his father-in-law Robert Pekios of Bettendorf; and his brothers-in-law, Dan and Tim Pekios. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quad-City Animal Welfare Center or the Long Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
