She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward "Walter" Rothfus and Hulda Rothfus (Wulff); her husband Brad; her siblings, Arlene Greiner and Larry Rothfus; her brother-in-law Dean Hartwigsen; and her siblings' children, Sue Loynachan and Brad Rothfus.
She is survived by: her children, Jodi Whitney of Eldridge and Brian Whitney (Heidi) of Kewanee, Illinois; her grandchildren, Olivia, Emily Freund, Emma (Tony), Becca, Jackson, Owen Whitney, Krayten and Kieryn Abernathy; her siblings, Lester Rothfus (Luz) of Kissimmee, Jim Rothfus (Phyllis) of Perry and Helen Hemphill (Bob) of Redfield, Iowa.; and her in-laws, John Whitney (Carol) of Atlantic, Bev Rhoads (Bobby) of Winterset, Alan "Spot" Whitney (Barb) of Ft. Mohave, Sue Hartwigsen of DeSoto and Rose Lulla (Andy) of Omaha. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home (130 N 2nd St, Eldridge, IA 52748). A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rudy's Tacos (150 S 14th Ave, Eldridge, IA 52748).
Following the service, all are invited to continue celebrating Susan's life at Rudy's Tacos in Eldridge from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In remembrance of Susan, memorials may be made to ImpactLife of Davenport, Faith Lutheran Church of Eldridge, or the American Cancer Society.
