He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Doyle Raymond and Opal Fern Baker (Howard); his wife Marlene Ann Ash; his children, Dr. Robb J. Baker (Maria) and Krista Kleitsch (James); his grandchildren, Joseph (Tara), Paul (Hannah), Dr. Bethany and Blake; his great grandchild James Raymond; his stepgrandchildren, Derek and Dana (Brody); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Enzo and Crew; his sister Connie Johnson-Kohl; and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Duff (Ash), Fred Duff and Rod Hatle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Schmitz Funeral Home (254 W Jackson St, Winthrop, IA 50682). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 4:15 PM and at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (626 S Frederick Ave, Oelwein, IA 50662).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in his name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein or Parkinson's research.
