He was predeceased by : his parents, Jack Higley and Ethel Higley; his wife Kitty Higley (Cullen); his daughter Maggie Johnson; and his sisters, Emroy, Patricia and Nancy.

He is survived by : his children, Heather Higley (FL), Bridget Bohnsack (MI), Jack Higley (CA), Dan Higley (CA) and Jim Higley (IA). He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his eight great grandchildren.
