She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Howard Jergens and Emaline Jergens (Walsh); her children, Steve Schmidt (Cindy) of Pine City, MN, Keith Schmidt (Marcia) of Olathe, KS, Kevin Schmidt (Monica) of Waconia, MN and Renee Schoon (Randy) of Rochester, MN; her grandchildren, Nat, Nick, Sky, Mike, Sully Schmidt, Stacy Wells, Angie Linz, Brad Schmidt, Brian Schmidt, Megan, Allie and Beth Schoon; and her siblings, Dale (Pam) of Gutenville, AL and Richard (Darlene) of Gilmore City. She was also cherished by 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Martin Mattice Funeral Home (704 Grand Ave, Emmetsburg, IA 50536). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (805 Harrison St, Emmetsburg, IA 50536).
