He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Hermsen and Hilda Hermsen (Deutmeyer); his parents-in-law, Mert, Ardella Gebhard and Jack Lockridge; his sister Lillian (Bob Steger); his brothers-in-law, Jerry Holtz and Jim Bekker; and his nieces and nephews, Bryan Hamilton, Mark Steger, Terry Holtz and Lori Meyer.
He is survived by: his wife Shawn Lockridge-Hermsen of Epworth, IA; his children, Mick Hermsen (Carmen) of Amherst, WI, Karie Beck (Neil) of Bailey, CO, Ann Bradshaw (Mark) of Wentzville, MO, Marty Hermsen (Lisa) of Albia, IA and Jenny Huehnergarth (Adam) of Dyersville, IA; his sister Kay Holtz of Ocean Springs, MS; his mother-in-law Analee Lockridge of Fort Meyers; and his siblings-in-law, Robin Bekker of Fort Meyers, FL, Stacey Schmidt (Jayme) of Villa Ridge, MO, Gina Hamilton (Rodney) of Minford, OH and Steve Lockridge (MaryKay) of Chillcothe. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many great nephews and nieces.
