He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Kathryn Thielen Rasmussen and Chet Rasmussen; his parents-in-law, Harry and Eleanor McAllister; and his in-laws, Leo, Pat Rasmussen, Dick, Sally Rasmussen, Toni, John Krieger, Judy Rasmussen, Austin Rice, Keith Kafer, Linda Paulsen and Trevor McAllister.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Kay McAllister of Exira; his children, Jill Strohmeyer (Matt) of Saint Louis, MO, Matt Rasmussen of Denison, Toni Spruell of Fort Collins, CO, Joe Rasmussen (Abby) of Exira and Trisha Boehm (Bruce) of Carroll; his grandchildren, Lucas Strohmeyer, Audrey Strohmeyer, Sylvia Strohmeyer, Oliver Strohmeyer, Greyson Spruell, Fletcher Spruell, Austin Rasmussen, Zoey Rasmussen, Skyla Rasmussen, Harper Rasmussen, Weston Rasmussen, Calvin Rasmussen, Mabel Boehm and Henry Boehm; his siblings, Pat Rice, Marti Kafer of Concord, CA, Charlie Rasmussen (Jo) of Mission Viejo, CA, Katie Graff of The Woodlands, TX, Gary Rasmussen (Carol Lea) of Exira, Frank Rasmussen (Dorothy) of Tempe, AZ and Sheila Richards (Roger) of Dallas, TX; and his in-laws, Perry Paulsen (Barb) of Exira, Roberta Ryan (Jim) of Polk City and Dean McAllister (Diane) of Fairfield Bay, AR. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 106 N Jefferson St, Exira, IA 50076. A Mass will be held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
