With sadness, we share the passing of John F. Meyer of Fairfax, Iowa. John, born on October 8, 1938, passed away on August 31, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Meyer and Adeline Meyer (Boisen); his wife Edy; his brothers, Wayne and Stanley Meyer; his children, Deidre Frett, Laura Nicola and Michael Richardson; his brother-in-law Ron Klein; his nephew Brian Klein; and his pet FeFe.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Burhite (Jay) of Cedar Rapids, Allan Richardson (Dawn) of Michigan and Monica Claman of Wyoming; his sister Joyce Klein; his grandchildren, Jason (Kacy), David (Stazia), Matthew, Ryan (Brooke), Johnathan (Ariel), Christopher (Brittani), Chelsea (Andrew), Zachary (Mikayla) and Heather (Gill); his great grandchildren, Shaun, Gavin, Lily, Aiden, Jaden, Ronan, Sutton, Noah Ryan, Teyton, Calen, Leighton, Kaelynn, Brad, Scarlett, Lillyth, Winston, Colston, Peggy-Sue and Bella; his great great grandchildren, Neveah and Clarence II; his cousin Beverly; his nieces, Wendy and Julie (Jared); and his son-in-law Ron Frett.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Patrick's Cemetery (9198 St Patricks Rd SW, Fairfax, IA 52228). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Fairfax American Legion Post 572 (216 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 52228).
