He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Lancaster and Rita Lancaster (Gehle). He is survived by: his wife Renee Lancaster of Fairfax; his son Dillon Lancaster (Bronwyn) of Fairfax; his grandchildren, Malakai and Roman; his brother Robert Lancaster (Renee Lunemann) of Solon, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Robyn Askren (Wesley) of Tennessee, Candice Krall (Michael) of Solon and Genese Witwer (David) of San Diego, California. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3855 Katz Dr, Marion, IA 52302). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials in Rex's memory may be directed to Calvary Community Church or to the family to be designated later.
