Russell E. Olson Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russell E. Olson of Fairfax, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 5, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Russell farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Russell is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Olson and Alice Olson (Viberg); his wife Elvira Johnson; his daughter Cindy Kay; his brother Rodney Olson; and his brother-in-law Craig Fallgatter.

He is survived by: his son David Olson (Nancy); his son-in-law Tim Kay; and his siblings, JoAnn Olson and Paul Olson (Linda). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross or ALS Association in honor of Russell.
