She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Hall McBride and Elinor Lou McBride; and her brother Larry Eugene McBride. She is survived by: her husband Quentin Stokes Dickins; her daughter Mary Elinor Dickins; and her siblings, Merrily King, Robert McBride and Luanna Stringer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice or in Barbara's honor to organizations supporting music education, civil rights, or nature preservation.
