He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Merwin and Dorotha Myrle Ferrel (McBride); and his siblings, Dorotha Angeline and Larry. He is survived by : his wife Helen Kae Johnston; his children, Cynthia Lou Schnieder (Wayne) of Arlington, Elizabeth Marie Clubb (Fred) of Batavia, Brian Ferrel (Dena) of Kahoka and Scott Ferrel; and his siblings, Eva Russel of Moberly, Missouri and Darrel Ferrel of Kansas City, Missouri..

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Faith United Methodist Church (304 E Maple Ave, Libertyville, IA 52567).
