She was predeceased by : her parents, Lester Workman and Louise Workman; her husband Harold Atwood; and her son Scott Atwood. She is survived by : her children, Deb Forbes (Mark Wenman) of Robins, IA and Mike Atwood of Farmington, NM; her grandchildren, Chelsea Archibald (Rob), Cassi Bormann (Pete), Kayla McMinn (Milo) and Evan Atwood; her great grandchildren, Alexis, Amelia, Adelyn, Tucker, Loma and Lula; her brother Chuck Workman (Sharyn); and her sister-in-law Rosemary Holdefer (John). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial's Family Center (1221 1st Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404).

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org) in Shirley's memory.
