She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Sater and Marie Sater of Danville, Iowa.; and her brother Clair Sater of San Francisco. She is survived by: her spouse Jerry Thompson of Conrad, Iowa.; her sons, Scott (Teri), Chad (Becky) and Justin "Jay"; her grandchildren, Megan Thompson, Alexander Thompson, Erin Read (Kyle), Elizabeth Thompson, Nathan Thompson (Delphina), Carter Thompson and Claire Thompson; her great grandchild Joel Read; her sisters-in-law, Rita Sater and Marcia Whiteford; her nieces and nephews, Heidi Thompson (Brent Baldus), Kim Smith (Andy), Robyn Mironov (Alec), Cary Thompson (Rita) and Chris Sater (Traci Green); and her sister Shiela Naffziger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, The Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County or The African Violet Foundation.
